A trip to Choke Cherry

With this Sunday being our last free weekend day until after New Years, we needed to get a little wheeling in. Jason (Yotaboy) called and mentioned Choke Cherry and that was all the encouragement we needed to load our junk and go find some trouble. We met Jason and Jack down in Farmington New Mexico on a trail that the local club was re-marking. And the fun began...

There is an interesting story with this picture. Chris is sitting there waiting for the guys from the club to put a strap on him because they were SURE that he was going to roll off the cliff and die. He was just crawling up the obstacle when one of the leaders came running over yelling "You're done!! Shut it down, you have to take a strap!" It was kind of funny, although Chris found it less than amusing...

And the strap saves him... After that little debaucle, we immediately left that trail and went off to do our own thing.

So needless to say a good time was had by all, well, maybe not by the Bronco herself. Chris "found" a pinon tree with the front end which pushed the radiator into the fan and put a few pinholes in it. But that was the only carnage for the day and pinholes can be fixed! :D The real adventure started on the drive home though. We hit a blizzard that came out of nowhere. It was a white out and in New Mexico there aren't really any snowplows so the snow was accumulating on the road and icing up underneath. Normally a 2 hour trip, it took 5 hours last night with the trailer and about 35 minutes from home it got really ugly so we had to chain up the truck. But we all made it home safe and sound, all though the trailer and the Bronco looked a little worse for the wear!

that sounds like a blast... sweet toyotas...

i hate it when you get shut down by a 'trail leader'.... FJCruiserTrailTeam-_- ... one of those guys was an ignoramous...:-\

From the looks of that picture I can't help but wonder

did you even have it in four wheel drive?

Only because I had done something a little more difficult a few minutes before.
I think what got me was the ignorant narrow-mindedness that was displayed here. Just because the obstacle was near a cliff it made it all badass to them, negating the fact that it was in all actuality totally gay.

Oh well.

Maybe if you would'nt try such hard lines, oh, by the way this is the rest of the picture.
