Would it be dumb to take a rotor that is 5 on 4.5 and drill it to 5 on 5.5 in between the original bolt holes or is it o.k.? Just thinking.

You will probably want to get a machine shop to do the drilling for you, especially if the rotor does fit snugly around the hub. If the rotor does not fit snugly on the hub, then the lug studs have to locate the rotor. If you don't drill the holes just perfect, you will have radial run out problems. If it is severe enough it can screw up your caliper and the brakes won't be as effective either.
I think rotors are heat treated too, so they can be a real pain to drill. I know drums are.

ok thanks. I do plan on having the machinist at work help me on this. What about the e-brake on this? I'm converting my drums to disk on the rear axle if you have not guessed by now.

I'll most likely get the right rotors I was just wondering if it was possibly to drill out some rotors that were just laying around for fun. That transfer case brake idea looks interesting does anyone have any pics of this?

EDIT:: for what it's worth, TSM makes decent, working stuff. However, at least for GM stuff, they are a little pricey. A few years ago I was quoted something like $650 for a 14bolt swap w/Cadillac e-brake calipers... should cost around $300 with those calipers. Maybe $400. But not $600. Caveat emptor, as always.

Toyota "truck" deal-- not looking to see what "truck" they mean, assuming pre-85? I don't work there though, so don't ask me!
