I am putting together an AAM 10.5 rear axle out of a GMC 3/4 ton pickup with a 6.0 engine. (Modern 14 bolt rear, with factory disk brakes.)
The housing I have came with some sort of factory "locker" type differential. I had assumed this was an open carrier and I had planned on welding the spiders and calling it a locker. Now that I see it has some sort of "locker" in it, should I keep it , or weld a standard carrier and continue as originally planned?
Are these factory "loclers" any good, or would I be better off selling it?
Thanks in advance.
