I bet you want it cheap too, eh? Make an "Add -a-leaf " out of another set of springs. Just take the main leaf out of the pack, cut the eyes off of it, and slide it under the main leaf of the packs you already have. Or, go get the RE YJ leafs that are designed for a springover application. Mepco carries them, and it is like 200 for a pair. They are nice springs.

I have missing links in the rear of my samurai and it gave me about 2" of lift and better flex.

hey kris, do you have YJ springs? if so, how does it ride? i found this on RRO's webpage......

*Please note, we do not recommend Missing links with any Wrangler spring kit. The Wrangler springs with the Missing Links handles too loosely for safe street driving. Any shop that tells you otherwise is only looking to make a sale. They have no interest in your safety. -RRO

that sucks

I have stock samurai rears up front with missing links and CJ springs in the rear with missing links. RRO told me the same thing they wanted me to buy a diffrent lift i think it flex great the only thing iss i wish i wouldn't have gotten missing links on the front. I have not noticed any diffence in the way it drives or handles on the road. plus i think with having Mlinks on the rear it's not as bad as having them on the front. And if you do deside to go with Mlinks in the rear don't get RRO's get trail toughs missing link set up.

yeah, i just called them.....they make 1"-2" longer shackles for stock springs, no YJ.......and they don't sell and add-a-leaf...for the YJ....gay...

when i talked to Glenn as he did my lift, he said to not do front M/L unless your ready for it....cause it'll handle different.....bla bla bla.......he didn't recommend it for DD's..... but damn, i wanted to run M/L in the rear, that blows.....

Then do it. I have not noticed any diffence myself in the way it handles and i drove it as my DD. i would just recommend not getting them for the front. i don't see how having Mlinks on the rear will effect the handling. but maybe i'm missing somthing. get them and see how you like them and if you don't then sell them. if i could figure somthing else out for the front i would sell my front Mlinks.

no kris, you don't understand......

i can't run the M/L due to them not fitting my YJ springs.....too wide.....they only make it for the stock and CJ springs.....

and, further more they don't recommend it due to safety issues..... -_- lame

I understand i was as worried as you about getting them but now i'm glad i got them.Look at Trail toughs web site they sell them for YJ springs. you need to look at the diffent companys rather than RRO.I know alot of the guy's on here run Mlinks on there rigs Terrymac runs them front and rear with his YJ springs and his daughter drives it to school everyday. i think Jeff cardall had Mlinks on the front of his samurai when he had the yellow one and he had YJ's Spencer has Mlinks he made on the rear of his Samurai. and i think all these guys drive them alot on the road.

i am interested in the rear 3rd....but do not have the funds at this time....do you take rubberbands?

will a spool do damage to axles? would i see breakage too often?

I have only broke one axle since i got the spool and I was in a pretty bad spot at little moab had all the weight of the samuria on the driver side rear tire. I don't think it would have mattered what kind of locker or spool you had it would have broke. I personaly like the spool in the rear i think it's a ton better then the lockright. I think Spence has the spool also. Only thing is your tires will churp when your turning.

as light as the zuks are, do you see a whole lot more tire wear with a spool?

but, yeah..i need another 3rd at least..to replace my rear...it's making a godawful grinding sound....the faster i drive, the less i can hear it! :D

I haven't noticed any tire wear but i'm sure there is if you drive alot on the road.

we ripped the crap out of our rear tires when our tracker was spooled up...and the tracker isnt much heavier than the sammy. I heard RRO actually quit selling the M/L's with their yj kit (they use to as part of the kit) because of some lawsuite about copying trailtough. I hear that was the real reason they quit selling them, not because they are any more dangerouse than anything else..if you are worried get front m/l's and get a panhard kit

Mines got the missing links up front with yj springs. It's never been smoother. I've never felt threatened on the road with this set-up. It does lean quite a bit more than before. But, this also is due to the fact that the 9000s are turned down all the way. Ive never driven with them cranked up. Sounds like somebodies fighting to make a sale. I think I would feel more scared coming down something steep with the links on the rear than anything. Maybe Im a little more confident with having waggy's. Maybe i'm just used to owning junk all my life that wonders and sway's all the time anyways.
