i am looking at lifting my jeep. i have a ? on how i tell if it has th dana 35 or the chrysler 8 rear axle?

This might help.
There should also be a tag on the cover between the bolts.

89 xj did not come with a 8.25. They did come with d35 as the most likely axle but a few came with d44.
