add a leaf

I was wondering if there is a trick to these. I have done some reading on them. I know you take the center pin out but the clamps on the leaf do you pop that pin out or do you bend the clamp a little to fit the leaf in?

Thanks

YJ stock springs to help with sag when i spring it over

just open them up. may require a little heat to make it easier but, you should be able to do it without it.

then bend the clamps back over when you get the add-a-leafs in.

oh yeah. it will be a little easier if you can pull the springs out and beable to use a bench vise.

but then again maybe thats just me :D

If you leave the clamps open or loose, it will allow for the springs to fan out some and give you just a little more flex.

AAA Spring has replacement center pins; it is a good item to carry as a trail spare and not too costly either.

I actually added two leaves to the front of my jeep (two per spring pack I mean) plus I re-acrched them, really worked out good.

Do what Shawn and James suggested and you'll be good to go.

If you're bending springs (like I was) try putting a limiting strap on each shackle. Worked like a charm on mine.
