add a leaf?

Have heard that the best way to level my truck, lifting the nose is add-a-leaf.
have heard that the worst move I can do for off road flex is add a leaf.

have a donor eff2fiddy, '95 460 long box 1/2 cab, and I drive an 88 302 5 speed std cab.

can I take any of its springs, add to the front spring pack of my current truk, and gain my couple of inches, and maintain flex?

I am eyeing the thick short one on the rear axle for the donor add a spring.

You can do a lot of research on junkyard leaf packs. You may change your springs all together, or use some of them. I drive a 4runner, so I don't know what is available for your truck but...

As a general rule adding a leaf will decrease flex and ride quality. (assuming you are keeping the other leaves in the pack)

Also the thinner the leaf, the more flex you will have. The leaf spring packs that I have seen perform the best have 6 leaves or more. With a thinner leaf you will want more leaves to decrease axle wrap.

If there is a good Junkyard pack that you can build for your rig I think they work as good or better than most aftermarket springs.

There is a lot more to consider than what I have said, but that should get you interested in doing some more research.

good luck!
