That has to be one of the most beautiful Toyota-based buggies ever put together, love the lines & execution! And with a 1UZ V8, it's going to be a performer! Hope to see it on the trail some day.

Only a few pics. Art came down from Red Feather and met me at the trail-head to do a quick run up 7mile. Easy trail. Perfect for seeing what needs to be changed/fixed. Pretty much a snow bashing run as we we're the first non-utvs on the trail this far up. Several high rpms assaults as the snow was slick with temps around 37*. Krawlers SUCK in the snow.

Everything went well. Only minor tweaks needed.

I need to inboard my rear lower shock mounts a little as the tire will contact the coil when flexed. Needs a roof built, and needs some wiring fixes done.

It will be ready for some crawling by the end of the week.

Great day in Penrose. Close to 80*. Rig worked great. No issues except for some very minor hiccups. Alt wire was a little loose and ignition button needs to be pushed just right to work.

Still, the buggy worked perfectly. It feels really balanced, and pretty much walked every line I threw at it. That included the exit on Patriot which is once again nasty now.

Cory went up first, but was having tranny cooling issues, so he took a strap after some attempts. John broke a rear D60 pinion. Dan broke a rear shaft on his Tacoma axle. I was pretty damn shocked when I pulled up, sucked the front end down, and it walked right up it.

All in all, it was a great day being able to load it on the trailer without any issues, and not want to change anything. The thing just flat out works.

I don't doubt it. Been watching it. I know its a year behind, but i just love watching any builds.

I'm looking for a 66' chevelle to start now that this is done. I'll be there, so if you come out let me know. I live 5mi from the event center.

Ran Carnage in Buena Vista on Saturday.

The buggy just works great. Other than high centering myself on Turtle Rock and getting a tug off of it, I never had an issue running any obstacle. It walked right up the waterfall and V-Notch. And after finding the line on the exit, it went right up as well.

Dan also had a good day with no winching and my buddy Brian finally drove V-notch in his full body 4runner unassisted.

I had two issues the whole day. First was a blown fuse that resulted in losing power to the starter panel. It took a few minutes to find it, but we got it handled and moving again.

I also had an issue with the starter switch kicking in on the drive down Chinaman's. I think its a touchy switch on the dash as every time I would hit a bigger rock at speed with the pass front it would kick in. It took me a minute to realize what was going on and needless to say, the start is NOT sounding the same now. It still works okay, but I can tell its not as healthy now. Which SUCKS since the starter is on top of the block under the intake manifold. So, to swap it out will require pulling the motor or at a minimum dropping it down between the frame rails enough to work on it. For the meantime it seems just fine enough to run, as it starts the motor just fine. I will diagnose the issue a little more and get it handled if it gives me anymore trouble.

Just got back from Moab yesterday. Buggy worked great again. No changes needed still except for maybe getting the belly height a little higher.

Ran Behind the Rocks, Pritchet Canyon up and then dropped it, Britney Spears, upper Helldorado twice, Lock Jaw, Drop Kick, and Green Day.

Some pics off my camera. Most of the time I was leading, so its hard to get pics. Dan and Brian may have some more though. Dan has video of the waterfall run up Helldorado on Friday night when I climbed it without the damn steering wheel. :shaking:

Here is video of Sunday night up it.

So, I will doing a few upgrades soon. Not because I have to, but because I am planning a few trail runs soon that I may need them for.

Billy was kind enough to send me some 25mm lower bearing caps/bearings for the front axle.

I've been running the new Diamond axle drive flanges in back, but the front RCV CVs are a little too long to fit them, so Brian is machining me some spacers for the front to make up for the extra length.

Need to build up a spare welded 4.88 3rd soon.

I will be upgrading the RCV 30sp front birfs with 300m inner axles soon too. Then I will carry the 24sp cromo ones as spares. I also need to get another rear spare shaft as a spare as well.

Sliders: After running Moab a few weeks ago, the lower chassis rocker tubes have already started denting. So, I will be building some sliders to help spread the load and give me some added protection for the side panels as well as give my fat ass a step to get in/out.
