A new section of the mam made rock crawling course in Delta has been completed. This makes the Matterhorn in SLC seem small.
where is the course in Delta? Is it visible from the RR tracks?
Are there any other courses like this in Utah?
Utah's Original was "The Field" near my house in Morton Meadows. 3.5 acres of dirt with a dried up canal winding through it made for a supercalifragilisticexpialidocious experience. I broke my old Apache banana-seat bike in half on that course.
Price ain't got nothin on "The Field"
My town can beat up your town
I'm not big time enough to play on man made courses.
It just seems like expensive concquences for failure. I mean, most people have like a 20% chance of succesfully getting up it, with 75% of failures resulting in potentially major mechanical or personal damage. I'm all for adrenaline and pushing the limits but that doesn't seem reasonable to me.
But, then again, I'm not a competitive rock crawler.
someone else compressed their spine from the impact of coming down the backside after a successful climb.
that position seems to be a recurring theme in your life Craig
Also, there are lots of things in life that require big balls and lots of skill, and have better than 50% odds of destroying your 50k rock crawler and yourself.
I mean, don't get me wrong. I think it looks fun and I enjoy the extreme end of rockcrawling, but I think I have my limts because I really have no desire to drive up and over a fake wall that could kill me.
oh definately. I'm not taking anything away from it and I'm sure it will bring tons of exposure to rockcrawling and Delta. As a non-competitive rock crawler I just don't have the desire or financing to do a wall like that.
