Well first off sorry to all thoughs that i told that i was going to be there at 9:30, ended up being 12:30. :( . My upper radiater hose blew up. .

Once my wife and I got up there and unloaded the sami we got up to the water crossing to Forest Lake, James K Stopped us and said hi. (Good to finally meet you) WOW Forest Lake sure has changed since two years ago. It sure is getting harder, on the way up we came across a stock sami that i found out later had alot of problems like a busted front axle housing or third? Something like that. We ran into some one from RME sorry I can't remember your name. :D. The samurai ran great but, I think i need a power steering cooler since the pump and resivor (sp) was freaking hot and it was growning when i turned?

After getting down from Forest Lake we ran over to Mineral Basin. Ran through the Rock Garden and on up , not quite to the top and had lunch. On the way down my carb sucked it would cut out and die when i let off the gas or pushed in the clutch. It seemed to clear up after we got down and, got it back home. Maybe it was the elevation?????? Anyway on are way back down as we came up to the Rock Garden there was a what looked like maybe a littel bit bigger tireg Jeep Liberty stuck in the middle of the Rock Garden. He must have been there a while since he had his jack out trying to stuff rocks under his tire's. A quik tug and he was on his way. A couple of build Tacoma's came up while i was getting the liberty out.

All in all it was a great day. Since it was the second time out with the sami i found a couple other things that i need to improve. Like power steering cooler, Hydro steering would be DANG nice since i have the spool in the front.

Must of just missed you. We were mixed in with the Tacomas' for a bit. On the way up around 10:30am or so close to the Forest Lake water crossing, we passed a TJ towing a blue XJ down the hill. It looked like it rolled and the driver put his arm out or something. Reason I think that is the drivers door was dented in pretty good, the mirrors were hanging and the driver didn't look happy at all as he had his arm in a sling and all wrapped up.
How far up to mineral basin did you go? We stopped at the snow bank near the end.

Your sami looked like it was built also. I was in the green taco. Thanks for pulling that liberty out of the way. We made it up to the ski lift area after busting through a couple of drits and did a bit of sledding. Not in good enough shape to hike up more than once.

The guy in the Blue XJ was trying to make room for a nother vechicle to pass and ended up flopping. His window was open and he stuck out his arm and it broke. When I got there there he was walking around with his arm in a sling. We got about 15 people and lifted the XJ upright. It got towed down by a Red XJ.

I think I saw you coming up to Tibblefork around 12:30-1:00pm Kris. Saw a blue/red Sami being trailered.

Where'd he roll? Just along the main dirt road? That sucks!

JamesK was there and I think he referred to it as the narrows. Its past the big switchbacks and around that tight bend near the cliff. Sorry bad description but its hard to explain.

I have always called it the narrows, just because there is nothing but sheer dropoff on one side and cliff face on the other.

somebody should of yielded right of way and backed to a safer spot to let someone pass JMO.

This is on the main North Fork road correct? The 2nd Dugway past the S-turn?

So he went up on the sidehill and layed it down?

I think I passed Kris K on the way down from Mineral Basin by Forrest lake. It was the only Suzuki I saw. My brother and father were climbing in Marry Ellans and were leaving when the Jeep rolled and they put the sling on him and helped tip him over. They said his arm was broke by the wrist.

How far did you make it up Mary Ellen? Rockslide?
I think they parked by the slide and hiked the rest of the way. From the pictures they showed me it looked like the avalanche still covered the road and had trees down everywhere. It looked like when the snow melts the road could be cleared by moving the rocks and cutting up the trees.

10-4, the Narrows is a fitting name, I beleive historically it was called the "2nd Dugout" as the first is the spot where Brett and EZ pulled the ATV out of the river...

Crappy deal :(

I felt bad for the guy. he was by himself, and the people that he got out of the way for didn't even stick around to get him down to the parking lot. I chased down a red xj to tow him out(I would have but was on my atv).

Trail Etiquette.... The next U4WDA Compass (Quarterly Newsletter) will have a great writeup on this type of situation... :)

That is not the first time that has happened there. Carl, me and a few others were up there when we came across a FJ that was laying on its side. Said he moved over and rolled.

Black FJ40, bigger kid driving (~200lbs), dark hair? Happend ~ 4 or 5 years ago?

Just before the Graveyard Flat (LMEG) turnoff?

I have heard a similar story...
