Here's the big bad rock slide  the only possible thing that could need blasting is if they want to remove a few of the bolders from the hill side.

As you can see from these tire tracks on the forest lake road..... it IS passable by truck..... although with the wash so close those rocks would make me nervous.

Here's forest lake road (first two pics are actually coming down)

You can go about 3/4 of a mile before you hit impassable snow.... the road is a regular river...

The first picture of the slide area, doesn't look bad at all. I was imagining something a lot bigger. Would it be passible by Jeep?

Was up there today, made it to the point in the picture on the bottom left, just a 1/4 mile past the mine area. Can't believe the amount of snow up there! If I had chains on a 4 tires I think I might have kept going.

Someone was up there in a vehicle (see fresh tire marks on forest lake road) they may have come up from the other side...... if you had a built jeep you probably could do fine on the slide area, but the price for failure is higher than I would want to pay (it's right on the edge of a very steep 150~200ft drop).

The road is still closed to vehicles though so......

Do you know if you can make it up the Snake Creek side to Mineral Basin and bypass the rock slide? Or is it still under snow?

I didn't go that way at all, but judging by the snow level in Mineral Basin my *guess* would be that it's passable..... now whether the gate is open, I have no guess on that.

me and some friends went up there yesterday we got to the rockslide up on the narrows i was in my cherokee and he had his explorer neither of us were built enough to try to get by so we turned around not to fun turning around on the narrows that sucked......with a well built rig you could get by but like said in a post above i dont think it would be woth the try to do it it is a long way to the bottom and and you would have to get close to the edge to get over some of those rocks :ugh: :ugh: i will just wait till it is open not worth the try in my eyes its to risky -_- :ugh:
