The only reason I can think for them to open the gate at tibble is if they opened silverlake road, which usually opens before mineral. Although I guess they could have opened it to get to granite flats....

I'm telling you that portion will not be open for awhile. Especially being that the avalanche danger of wet slides is extremely high as of now, especially southern facing slopes, which is nearly all of that area.

I saw on the news that the canyon will open up Memorial Day weekend. Whichever day exactly, who knows. Forest Lake will take a while to be able to get to. The trail is deep in that canyon, it'll take a while for the snow to melt.

As of 30 minutes ago, Silver Lake Flats is open, but the gate at the creek crossing is closed, and you can get about a mile past holmen flat before you meet a rock slide.

So the North Fork gate IS open to 4x4's?

Badger and I went up there today, you can get to about the arrow in the attached map in a car, they have some rocks stacked up to stop vehicles but with a space to allow ATV's through. We talked to someone on a wheeler and there is a big rockslide a little ways past that.

You can drive to the trail head for Silver Lake (the upper one) but the gate is closed at the creek. There isn't much snow left around there so it shouldn't be long.
