Whatcha doin' up there? I've heard it's beautiful up there!
once i get my laptop i'll post up, or link the pics i've taken from my adventures so far... by helicopter, airplane, horseback... good times.. good times...
i opted to get away from the Utah scene for the summer to work... i had to get away, and thought Alaska would be a nice spot to work and play for awhile...

If you need people/places let me know. My family lived in Anchorage for 8 years, and Fairbanks for 10 . . .
The most important question though: Have you slept more than 8 hours straight since you've been there?
If so, do your windows have tinfoil on them?
The only way I could ever sleep through the night was to cover every window in my room with tinfoil.

you nailed it... the first two weeks i wandered around until 3am not able to sleep... i'd more or less pass out for 3 hours then drag myself to work... i now have tin foil on the windows, but the window's open alot of the time cause it's hot where i'm staying... so alot of good that does.
the 13-15 hour days help to put me right to sleep with little to no problem though...i'm living in Healy, working in Denali... for Royal HWY Tours(Princess Cruise Line's transportation company)...

Other than that, make sure to hit the Hali run, Dont miss out on the king run in the Russian.
Theres a hoop load to do up there make sure you take advantage of all of it.

Those are amazing! What a great opportunity to leave the daily humdrums and go do something different for a bit.
yeah it's a nice change in pace and scenery.... i really think everyone should see Alaska atleast once during their life...

AK's on my top 5 things to do in life, and so far I've only made up excuses as to why I haven't been... :-\
2 of my friends went last year for the summer and they have more stories than I could have ever emagined... They bought a $50 Subaru here in Logan and drove it as far North in AK as you can get without being on the ice roads. They went through 5 fuel filters and and 2 sets of brakes, and that's it They even sent me back a bottle of the Midnight Sun Brewery's (Anchorage) Stout... Mmmm....

yeah, i set those two up... glad to hear he's getting out...
if anyone is thinkin about AK... you gotta come up.. i recommend not working for a cruiseline if you're lookin for summer work... too much BS.. but there's endless other options for work.. all over the state..
this state is amazing...
