i have been told by half the people i talk that i would have no problem with the snakes at 5 mile with a '99 tj with 2" bb and 32" sport kings and the other half said not to even try. Help me. also need to find more trails, i've been all over boutiful/farmington and 5-mile (all but the snakes)

Yep, what Badger said...Rattlesnake can be pretty easy or it can be a little harder but either way you should be able to make it fine. I wouldn't waste your time on Con ;)

and lets be on the down low about constrictor.... its a 35's tire trail and at least a rear locker if not front and rear.

My stock XJ made it through Rattlesnake with a little convincing, but Constrictor is nasty. It's an awesome trail if you've got a built rig, but otherwise you'll just break parts, a lot of parts.

I have seen a stock XJ and a stock Liberty and of all things a stock Eddy Bower Ford Explorer  do the RS. Took a little convincing but they all did it.

Hmmm... I gonna go against the grain here and say if you're a good driver, you could do Constrictor if you have a winch to get up the waterfall. I have 33's and lockers and I had very little problem doing the Con. Maybe I've wheeled with lockers so long that I've forgotten just how much they help.... A good way to find out how you'll do is try the first obstacle of the trail. If you can't make it up the end of the little chute/canyon/thinger, turn around. That's probably the hardest part of the trail, IMO. But if you end up stacking tons of rocks or needing a strap after trying for a bit, the rest of the trail is going to give you a headache too.

Anyone have a good map to show where both trails are at 5 mile? Ive been there many times, (for work) and have never found them i think. I take it they are on the south side of sr73 not the north.

Thats because the trail is not what it once was, because people keep telling people to try it in underequipped rigs.

Exactly, Con was never meant to be a trail you could get up in with 33s and a locker...yeah, a good driver goes a long way but Con was meant to be a difficult trail. With a winch and a strap you can get almost anything through anywhere but thats not the intention now is it ;)

i agree its a 35 + tire and at least a rear locker if you do bypasses. but f/r locker adn 35 for a shorter wheel base and 37 for longer.

There aren't supposed to BE bypasses on the Con

 NO there aren't supposed to be any. It's supposed to be a rated 5 trail. 2 Lockers and a winch required not maybe one locker and drive around all hard obstacles. I want to be able to do the trail one day and I don't want it to be rated a 3 by then -_- . The main bypass on the first obstacle looks like the trail more than the trail itself. Anyone have any ideas for blocking it off?

didnt mean to ruffle feathers... me and my friend take it the hard way so no worries we are all locked up and 35+ tires so ya we are equiped with 2 out of 3 rigs with winches.

but all im saying is you can go around the first obstacle but its ghey if you ask me.

i love con.. its awsome. wish i could make it up the waterfall though.

well actually, THAT'S A BYPASS. It needs to be blocked off.
