Aluminum tie rods, do they hold up?

I'm getting into my steering and need a new tie rod, and probably a drag link too. I was planning on using regular DOM, but now I am considering aluminum. I have seen a few made from aluminum, but havent seen any long term results.
What does RME think, Aluminum or DOM steel?
What size and type of aluminum would you reccomend?

My Rock Krawler aluminum tie rod has held up amazingly to serious abuse. I'm not sure what RK does to their 7075 aluminum to make it so amazing but I'll never go back to steel.

I heard it was really flexy, does 7075 do better than 6061 or another type of aluminum? I don't have any idea what the differences are. Should i be concerned about the threads pulling out if i go with aluminum?

If I remember, 7000-series is more flexible and less brittle than 6000, or the other way around. I can't remember. I've got one from Summit and it's been holding up great.

EDIT: I'm probably using the wrong terms to describe the respective qualities. Apologies to metallurgists :p

Love my aluminum tie rod from summit machine. I accidentally ordered it in 1.5" when they recommend 1.75". It is offroad only but it seems to be very forgiving and helping all my other stock parts hold up better... maybe that's all in my head but it makes me feel better about not upgrading my knuckles.
