Am I alone with this problem?

So me and the wife just moved and are buying a new house a few months ago, what i loved about this house is that i have pretty much a four car garage! The heck with the rest of the house I can live in my heated and cooled garage. Well here has been the problem and curious if i am alone. I have this huge garage but since we moved 7 mos ago i have yet to be able to fit a jeep in there yet. I have enough room to do what i gotta do welding wise and the wife has her room for crafts and the rest was just packed! So as of the last week I have spent hours and hours and hours going through the garage. I can easily fit three jeeps in there now! only bad thing is they barely fit, the doors are only 7.5' tall so kinda hard to get the big toys in :( So am I the only one that has this problem, are there more people out there that have a huge garage but cant park a car in it even if they wanted to? :ugh:

Nope, with our new house, my wife knew up front that the only things that went in to the garage are things that belonged in the garage. We moved everything directly inside the house and nothing stopped in the garage. My whole garage had the walls painted, floor epoxied, shelves and cabinets put in before we moved anything to our new house. It's gotten a little cluttered over the last two years but it would take me about an hour tops and it'd be back like I want it. I can easily fit three cars in plus my motorcycle (my garage is a three car but really it's more likely a three and a half) :D

I feel your pain... When we moved into our house, I never thought about having a tow rig in the garage. All I cared is that both of our vehicles at the time fit in there...

Well, this truck:

Does not come close to fitting in this garage:

I bought a cheap carport at Costco that I'll be putting up this weekend to avoid scraping off snow off the truck this winter. The trailer is now in the garage

Nope, only garage stuff is in the garage. The random crap got put in the basement. I've got a Dodge quad cab, WJ, XJ, and Honda in the garage, and there's easily room for two more without moving any of the work benches or cabinets. :greg:

My XJ on the trailer fits through the low door. :greg::greg:

I used to have a garage I could fit my CJ in and work on. It was a bit cramped, but I could do it. ...now I don't have a garage at all....or a CJ :-\
It's ok though, I work in a shop, so that makes things easier :)

I bought my wife the house. The garage is mine. Her stuff stays inside. Mine can fit 3 cars. I knew it would not be big enough. Before we put in the lawn I poured foundation for 20x26 shop havent built the building yet and already wish I would have went bigger.

Wife knows the garage is mine, for garage stuff only. Storage is in the basement. The only thing she cares about is being able to park in it during the winter months. But she understands if I'm working and there isn't room for her to park in there.

As for the Jeep fitting, it scrapes the weatherstrip, but fits without dumping air out of the tires. Sounds like you might need to replace the doors with some 8'ers :D

No house... no full size garage...

BUT, have any of you considered "squishing" the suspension if your rig is to tall? The only thing I can think of now is a cheap $50 winch that you could use to pull the frame closer to the axle with.

Food for thought.... and food for my thoughts when I get my own house. :D

(I wonder how expensive it would be to put a big hole in the garage? Something like they do at Jiffy Lube :D )
