Nice work to who ever that was. I use to mountain bike. I broke my frame and was given a ride by Frank Currie in the old red CJ. That was almost 18 years ago. I have not been on a bike since.

I try to be nice to everyone, but sometimes I forget

Nice! And you can post comments down at the bottom! Hmm maybe we should mention the Moab Trails Closures there? Plus you can rate the article down at the bottom.

Great story. Every time I pass a biker, espcially on Hell's Revenge which crosses the Slick Rock bike trail, I ask them if they need any water or food, or anything. I've heard of bikers running out of water and it's not pretty. I used to ride it a lot and in the summer it can get bad fast.

Coool, I think this type of thing is more common then not....
I always carry extra water and food just for that reason. A little good will and friendliness goes a long way for changing an image!!
Both groups love and use the land, we are more partners and should act like it!

Glad to hear of good stories being printed in the Trib. My family and I have helped out bikers that either were lost or had run out daylight. One group stayed overnight with us by Prichett Arch and the other loaded their 10 bikes in the back of my dad's truck and got a ride out of Porcupine Rim. :)

Awesome story. Our last trip to Moab we came across a lost biker on Hells Revenge with his dog. His dog had gotten into some cactus and could not walk so this guy was carrying his dog and his bike wandering around aimlessly with no water and it was getting dark. We loaded him, his dog and his bike into our vehicle and drove them out. This guy was so grateful. He thought he was gonna die out there. We try to take extra water and food for the stranded bikers.

Great story. I added a comment. :)

I always ask the bikers if they're doing okay. I know I'd hate to be left out there without enough water, and I always keep more than enough in my cooler to go around.

Over Labor Day this last September, we came across a lady running PSM. She was still going up the trail at the Wedge when we came up to her, and the 12 oz plastic bottle she had was empty (of course). We gave her another bottle and made sure we kept her empty one so she wouldn't drop it on the ground.

The bad images people get about offroaders are from the idiots who take daddy's truck up into the hills nearby and trash everything. 98% of the people out in Moab on the trails are the nicest people you'll ever meet and will give anyone a hand.

I had fuel pump problems last spring on Gold Bar Rim. A full-size Blazer asked if I needed a tow, and before I could answer he was getting his strap out. He ended pulling me all the way back to the highway. When I offered him some cash to say thanks, he flat-out denied me and went on his way.
