An unknown downside to large trucks

I made quite an interesting discovery tonight as I was driving home from my day in of shopping in New Mexico. It was about 11:00 and I had just turned off the highway and was heading home when I noticed the dreaded red and blue lights in my mirror. I immediately pull over whilst trying to figure out why in the world I'm being pulled over. For once, I'm not speeding, but it is a Friday night so who knows. I turn MaKenzie off and get my shoes on when I look in my side mirror and realize there is another car behind me along with the state patrol's car. ODD. Here comes the officer so I roll down my window only to be told:

"I'm not pulling you over Ma'am, I'm pulling the guy BEHIND you over. I appreciate you stopping though". Here's the bad part of this story, I never even saw the guy behind me, he was in that small of a vehicle. Yes, I am a nerd. Feel free to point and laugh now! :)

The car behind you was probably drafting you to get better mileage and got pulled over for following to close.
Did you get more power after he was gone:)

The funniest part was that when she came home and told me, the thing she was most worried about was that her shoes were off....:p

(It is unlawful to drive without shoes you know)

Actually, most states have laws about that. Somehow they will allow flipflops which I feel would be more dangerous than going barefoot...

Ok, I thought Chris was joking. That is one of the most ridiculous laws I've heard of.

Someone construct the rationale for me.

That is too funny. How red was your neck after that? ;)
Hey there buddy bear, that's hitting a little to close to home.....-_-

I can't come up with any rationale for you. Sorry. I have always known that if I get pulled over, I need to immediately drop the cell phone and put the shoes back on! And make sure my eyes are wide and innocent looking like I'm driving my husband's truck and really don't know the first thing about driving a big ole truck.....:hickey:

Because sometimes you need to be ready to chase illegals with your shot gun at any given moment back to mexico. You would loose them had you needed to take the time to put your damn shoes back on. You already have load your gun while in pursuit. THATS WHY! So obvious.:D

My guess is the back of the truck was so full of the things you had been "shopping" for, you probably couldn't see behind you too well.

As far as driving barefoot, I don't see a problem, but you should wear clothes:eek::rofl:
