Another buggy project

Fabricated most of a bracket for my ECM and need to grab a couple tabs to finish.

Got the steering mostly plumbed on the weekend, except for the 2 lines going to the ram. Having a hard time coming up with a good route.

Waiting for two fittings that should arrive today and will have the fuel system ready to go in. Have to mount the shut off valve, fuel pump and filter. I plan to have the fuel system finished this week.

I'll get pics soon.

Took today off to finish the fuel and power steering, and mount the ECM. Need to finish a couple more things then run some wires. Hopefully in the next couple of weeks. Pics coming after today.

When I went to get my oil filter for the new pan, it would not screw on and I was like wtf. Turns out at least on mine it had a different port. I just had to unscrew the one that came with the new pan and throw the one from the truck pan in it. The camaro filter and truck filter are the same thread.

BTW, I found out the mystery oil filter. It's a 2002 Camero with a 5.7, the only F body that came with the LS1.

I've been thinking of hydro seeding, and the time is getting close. We'll see.

Back to the buggy. I finished up the odds and ends on the steering and fuel and finally have some pics. Should have my ECM mounted tonight.

Is that fuel filter the type with replaceable brass elements? That's what I had on the buggy. Took me just a couple minutes to replace the element once on a trail, and spares are so tiny you can fit them anywhere!

You and Kiel are both getting real close. You put some real good thought into your fuel lines too it looks like. I have always been a little unsure about mine, and I get a little vapor lock when it gets over 100 outside. I may need to put a small cooler on mine for those real hot days!
Headed to Moab for Thanksgiving Bart?

Yes, I'll be there for Thanksgiving for sure.

Here are some pics of the cold air intake and the computer bracket. I know the welds don't look great, but they are strong. I welded 2 long 3/8s bolts on some angle iron and made brackets that bolted to the ecm. Then I made a bracket the bolts would slide into in the rear and then a cradle that the front would sit on. A little over kill but it'll hold in a roll or two.

Dang that computer mount is beefy:D Good call on drilling through those fins. What filter/adapter did you end up going with? I still need one. Also I noticed that picture of the headers, are you going to make your own? I did my own exhaust and it pretty much brought the suck. ;)

Not sure which end your talking about so I'll do both. I used this one to take it from the 4" elbow to the Mass Air sensor.

Then I got a K&N filter (RU-3530) that fit on the other side of the sensor.

As for the header, I bought a set of Sanderson CC1LS1 block hugger headers. The driver's side worked great the passenger side dropped straight into the starter, upper control arm, and drive line. I sent it back and they are custom making a passenger side one that drops just outside the frame rail. I wouldn't attempt to make my own.

Since I took 3 days off last week to finish my front yard (yes it's finished) I got to work on the buggy again. Had to de-gas the shocks, pull them and the control arms, cap some tube ends, paint, then reassemble. Of course I had to do the front and rear on different days and wait for the paint to dry.

Pulled the steering and radiator out so I could paint those sections of the chassis while I was at it and beefed up the front winch mount.
