Another Dana 44 Question

No matter what carrier is in the 44, does the Full Spool, Detroit Locker and or the ARB replace the carrier? So, if one was to have the 3.73 and down carrier and wants to go to a 4.88, 5.29, 5.89, bla, bla, bla... does or does not the above mentioned locking devices replace the smaller carrier? Or would one still have to purchase the 3.92 and up carrier along with the above mentioned locking devices

They all replace the carrier.

The only Detroit I know of that doesn't replace the carrier is the one for the FF 14 Bolt.

no, all those aforementioned products replace the carrier, meaning you won't havea carrier any longer. So far as I know, all those products work with the 3.92 and up gear ranges.

Thanks Guys I was told the things like the mini spool, EZ-Lockers, Lockrites and such do not replace the carrier. American axles are all new to me

yeah, thats correct...they dont replace the carrier but rather just the spiders...the full lockers replace the whole carrier...
