Most of you remember our last FJ40 build that was completed and on display @ last year's DATC show and the EJS in Moab.

Well, our newest FJ40 build is nearing completion, so it's time for some pics and info. Although this one is pretty "tame" compared to the last one, it is definitely an impressive rig.

Here are the specs:

- Toyota FJ40 (well, whats left of it anyway)
- Chev LTI (stroked to 383ci) w/ approx. 450 HP
- TH700R4 tranny
- Atlas II 4.3 tcase-
- Dana 60's front and rear w/ 4.88s and Detroits
- 100" wheel base
- 37" Toyo MT's for street and 37" BFG sticky's on Walker Evans beadlocks for trail
- Custom 3-link front and 4-link rear
- Fox 2.0 coilovers
- Fox air bumpstops
- Dual Optima batt. setup
- Howe ram assist
- Navajo brake booster/master cyl.
- GM tilt column
- Autometer gauges
- ArtCarr shifter
- Mastercraft seats
- Custom aluminum fuel
- Custom cage (tied into frame at all points), spare tire mount, seat mounts, and FJ40-esque tube steps.
- Custom tubular rear fenders
- Custom front "high" fenders
- Custom paint and powdercoating

FYI, it is currently sitting on the airbumps. Its definitely low, but not 'that' low. :)

Yeah, this customer wanted to keep the overall cost lower than the blue one, yet still use really nice components. Most of the cost savings has come in the form of retaining more of the original frame instead of starting over from scratch (although much of it has still been beefed up or modified to make room for coilovers and airbumps.

The color does look really similar to the rig you mentioned. It definitely has alot of "metallic" to it and gets really bright in direct sunlight, thats for sure...

Ben has been great to work with me my FJ. It may be a bit mild by his normal "state of the art" crawler standards but still a nice daily driver... I can't wait to get it out!
