Another Mig Welding Question

Ok when you are welding together 2 pieces of tube what are you doing with your tip? Do you just drag, do you circle or do you 1/2 circle?

Are you butt welding the two pieces? Or is it like a 90* joint? For butt welding, Make sure you bevel the edges of both pieces, then I would push a straight bead into the groove. If it is the other type of joint, I would do circles or "C's". I am not a professional, so you may want to wait for other responses from poeple like Supergper.

Hickeys advice is good advice, BUT there isn;t a written rule as to how you are supposed to do it, practice practice practice try all the different ways you can and do destructive testing on them and see which one you are getting the best penetration with. It all comes down to what works best for you and only practice can really answer that...like I said though Hickey's advice is good advice and its what I do too
