If you want to learn how to weld and make Jeep parts come over to the house, there is always some Jeep project going on..... and lots of spare parts to play with. You ought to come check out the new bumper/ spare tire carrier I have made for the Scrambler.

FYI I am her Uncle, I told her about RME, but I wasn't sure she new who DaveB was. Also you have been to my house, to pick up parts, so feel free to stop by again.

Such a good uncle! I am so excited to learn how to weld! (although when I told my friends tonight I'm pretty sure they thought I was crazy...) ;)

I would not advise Little Moab to anyone who is not willing to risk body damage. It's not really a difficult area, but it can be deceiving. I know more people who have rolled or flopped their junk out there than anywhere else local. I would suggest Rattlesnake. As far as sewing and welding, I am always amazed at the cool stuff my wife makes with her sewing machine. It is a tool very similar to a welder in it's usefulness. Welcome to the board. :hickey:

Not that I'm going to do anything dangerous or above my skill level, but how much body damage are we talking? I kinda want to keep my people eater all pretty and purple with as few dents as possible. :-\
Isn't rattlesnake a little more dangerous? Or is that just something I've been told by relatives to keep me nice and safe? ;)

Em,
Paul made it up rattlesnake in his cherokee last fall, wasn't sure he could but he made it. He has 3 inches of lift but only 30 inch tires that are more of a road tread. We did have to stack a few rocks to get him over some of the rocks. He didn't put any dents in his rig. I'm sure he will be heading out there as soon as he installs his new RE lift and bigger tires. And I know Dave Jr wants to try his new lift and tires out on it soon. You will get a good workout on your clutching skills. I haven't done Little Moab but I have heard of people rolling their rigs out there.

One of those relatives....

Good call Hickey, I should've thought about that, I was just thinking the small things around the edges but your right, they can be very decieving.

Hey em welcome to the club. I've only been here a few months but loved every minute of it. My brother turned me on to it (pierced_3). It's cool as he** that you actually own your own jeep and don't just drive daddy's or the boyfriend's. And it's even cooler that you're trying to do your own work. Props. Most girls can't change a tire. Everybody learns by digging in and asking somebody who knows. I know mechanics because I've driven various p's.o.s. all my life and had to fix them when they break. I've become so paranoid that I carry tools with me at all times and everytime I smell a car problem or pass the refienery I turn off the radio and check all my guages to make sure it isn't me. Keep playing the sweet, cute girl that needs help with her jeep and you'll get plenty of it. And yes, you gotta love a girl that drives her own lifted jeep.

Darn straight I own my own jeep. I had to fight with my dad over it for months before he even thought about letting me get one. Thanks to my fabulous uncles I won that argument! (yay uncle Dave :) ) My guys friends teased me about getting one too, but I'll tell you who they called when they were snowed into their houses... that and I threaten to drive over their low-rider cars. My dad made sure I knew how to change a tire, check my tire pressure, and check my oil and some fluid levels when I first started driving, so I am not completely car illiterate. I am so excited to get elbow deep in my car that all my girl friends think I am crazy.... ok maybe I am, but I love it! I even found a really good mud puddle last night a drove around in it for a while!

Uncle Dave-- you sure I can make Rattlesnake? Isn't that where you met the guy who was selling his Rubicon? Paul has a bit bigger lift than mine and an automatic, but if you're sure I can do it, then I trust you... Ev had me under the impression that I would NEVER make it... but then again he is my little brother and doesn't really have any confidence in my jeep because it's purple... that's something I definitely don't understand.

Anybody have anything against a purple jeep?

I think you could make it but you would need a spotter. You would also want to have someone with you to help you out if you got stuck. Yes this is where we met the guy who was selling his Rubicon. He was spotting for his sister who was learning how to wheel. Paul has some pictures of rattlesnake and the Rubicon and I'm sure he would send them to you.
Jeremy from the board came by tonight to pick up a muffler and tailpipe and he bent up the rear bumper on his lifted Cherokee Saturday on rattlesnake so you have to be carefull.
By the way little brothers never think sisters can do anything but shop, at least you don't have a pink Barby Jeep. Put Ev in your Jeep and let him try to clutch it and humble him a bit.
