Any advice on using a tapered reamer?

Any of you guys ever use one in a drill press? I'm going to be doing some steering mods soon and I need to re-taper my knuckles and pitman arm. I'll probably just use some cutting oil and keep the speed low. However, I've never used one so if there are any special tips or tricks now's the time to let me in on them

You got it, slow and easy, liberal amounts of cutting fluid. Cast knuckle drill easily. Go slow and check it often, don't take too much out.

Where did you get the reamer?
Circle track suppliers have them cheap, under $100.

Thanks. Actually, I haven't bought the reamer yet. I was going to order one from snapon or goodson....unless you know where I can get one local? Are there stockcar stores in Utah that carry them?

Mcness/Racer enterprises on 300 W and about 1380 S should have one in stock. It is right behind the Zionz bank on the west side of 300 W, just South of the 6 states shop. Or pick up a circle track magizine and order it from whoever is cheapest.

Sweet, that's gonna save me some time. I called Marmon Keystone today and they have the tube I'm lookin' for so I guess I can gather the pieces sooner than I expected.

What size Tube are you getting? I'd be intrested to hear current prices, if you wouldn't mind?

I paid 2$/foot for 1.75" .120 DOM tube about 4 months ago.

I decided to go with 1.5" OD .25 wall DOM. This makes it easy for me to do everything my self since I have some weld in threaded tube ends that need to have 1" ID tube. The thread is 18 with a 7/8 shaft. I'm using the popular inverted T setup from an 85 blazer. The tube costs $3.68/ft and it comes in 24 foot lengths. Let me know if anyone wants some as I'll have plenty of extra.
