ANY lowers in stock anywhere?! AK or AR?

Have you guys seen anything? Anything reasonably priced? I'd like a stripped or complete lower I just can't afford another complete AR or AK right now

Your best bet is to find a company that isn't outrageous and backorder it. Probably have one in 6 months if a ban doesnt kill the transaction.

Or you could try like some of the guys on the gun classified are doing offering to pay old market value and not current market value.

I laugh everytime I hear about the gun loving Americans complaining about current gun prices with people and companies ripping people off. Capitalism is just as American as owning guns in my book.

^^ This. I don't get people who think charging what the market will bear is somehow "dishonest". I don't want prices to be set by anyone besides the buyer and seller.

Anyone have a stripped lower AR I can draw up in solid works? Got a customer that has licensing to machine lower ARs and wants to produce a bundle..

You can take mine if you will sell me some legal to sell and manufacture 80 percent lowers.

Mine is a Rock River lower.

how does one get such licensing??

Just to clarify, it's not licensing to make lowers, it's licensing to produce and distribute firearms. So you'll need to first get an FFL, then there is extra licensing on top of that, the ATF will have to come interview you, and then they will give you a written letter giving you permission as well as granting you the extra permit/license. I don't know the exact process but it's something like that. Something else that you have to track is all your serial numbers and where they are sold to.

IMO, if you're interested in producing lowers, a better route to go is to produce 80% lowers. Then you don't need any special licensing and can sell your "paper weights" without any extra hassle.

Last gunshow had stamped receivers for AK for $100 all you need is a parts AK(at the gun show as well) and some drilling and welding skills and you can build your own, or search for the shovel AK and go that route.
I don't think there are going to be any good deals for some time, but you may get lucky

How much were the ak parts kits running?

If you're desperate to get in to an AK or AR right now, the AK will be your best bet. Infact, I know a guy that has several AKs (brand new) that he's selling, not sure how much though. AKs are way less expensive and I'm sure a bit easier to find parts for. Brian was saying buy a part AK and swapping parts from the old to the new receiver. I'm not sure you'll find a parts kit right now either, I know you won't for the ARs.

Kurt and I both looked a a couple of AK kits, the receiver was $100 and you had your choice of AK kit from $500 and up.
The kit was basically an AK torched in half.

FWIW, the company was Shurluk, they are always at the gun show.
They also sell AR uppers for $550 and up or kits with everything but a lower for $700 and up, it all depends on what you want or that they have in their kit, I bought a kit from them a couple years ago and was very pleased with it, but at that time the kit was only $550 I bou a lowere locally, so I had an AR in the $650 range.
Ah e good old days, I'm sure there are p,entry of people that have bought cheaper, but it was good at the time.
Best of luck!

Me again...
You might want to research building an AK, there is a bit of drilling and riveting involved, not too crazy, but without some good equipment, it could go south in a hurry.
