a couple years before I got married a few friends and I decided to all buy Subarus. Ive got to say it was the best 500 bucks I have ever spent!

Mine was a 86 4x4. It had the adjustable ride height shocks on it so I cranked them as high as it would go and bought a set of snow tires for it. We had the intentions of kind of rally racing them but I always ended up just wheeling mine. We would go up Farmington canyon and play. Ususally ended up playing bumper cars with them. They were jumped all the time. I was very surprised at what the car would do.

One time there was about 20 dumptruck loads of road base that had been dumped all in a line so I decided to drive up the first one. Totally expecting to get high centered and get drug off. The stupid car just kept climbing all of them! I made it to end and no damage except a muffler. Dang fun. Of course I was young and stupid then.

Someday i will buy another Suub to play with again

I still want another one as well. I was just stupid because I didnt have respect for the trails. I tore them up pretty good. Im sure they werent happy with the tire tracks through their roadbase either.....

Other than that Im still stupid

One thought I just had, doesn't the Loyale body style have a pretty significant rear overhang? Probably front as well. If you could still find one in good condition, you may be better off with the previous body style (I can't remember exact years, but included our 84).
