I got this 76 SnoJet SST 440 a while back, and have been fighting a few issues. I got it to where it runs for the most part, but the main circuit board is pretty well fried. I have no spark with the engine plugged in, even with all the shutoffs disconnected. It runs ok with the engine harness disconnected, but then I can't shut it down.
Will it work to tie the two coil grounds together for shutdown, or will that make a spark at the bottom of the stroke and cause damage? Another option would be a double pole switch, and just have both wires on the other side go to ground for shutdown, but I don't know what kind of power is at those wires and if a standard 12v double pole switch can handle it.
Does anyone have any pointers for this style setup?
