i'm looking at shipping a vehicle from Charlotte NC to here. all the online places I find want 1000 to do so. Anyone know of a cheaper alternative or know of a place to call to get a quote. Seems like 1000 is pretty spendy.

if it was just paradise west to sugarhouse I'd buy the bullet proof jacket and crack decoy's and do it myself.

A grand sounds about right. That's what it cost to get my Jeep from here to Mertle Beach. Are you getting Terminal to terminal prices? Door to door will run up the cost a bit, and most the auto shippers run out of north Salt Lake. If you're willing to drive down there to get it, it will save you a few bucks.

What are you shipping? Will it fit on multi-hauler? Some stuff may be too tall....Try shipping a 4wd van across the country:eek:

You can always wait for Durham to make a trip back out here and see if he'll tow it for you....

You could contact a couple flat bed carriers in the SLC region and ask them how much, but to use a reg flat bed you will need to be able to have the car @ a ramp location on the shipping end or give them permission to use a fork lift (not a good idea unless your there to watch closely). It's 2043 miles from Charlotte to SLC so $1000.00 is a bargain.

You will need to know how much it weighs, how long it is and how wide to get a accurate rate.

Call Smoot Bros in Brigham City @ 435-744-0119 talk to Kelly ext 12

Call D&H in Spanish Fork 801-798-2128 talk to Wally or Jan

Call Dallas-Mavis 817-249-4454 talk to Debbie

Don't tell them you got a $1000.00 quote just tell them Dan from NYK gave you their #.

Good luck

We had a piece of equipment shipped here on a flat bed and we hired a big tow truck with a flat bed to meet us at the truck. Tow truck guy was able to raise his bed up to the trailer and Chris just drove the machine onto the tow truck's bed and then it was all downhill from there!
