Well, after freezing my A** off all weekend, I started wondering about heating the seats. Have any of you installed an aftermarket seat heater?? If so, where did you get it from and how well did it work???

I picked up a couple of those 'free cadillac escalade seats' that were on here a while back and put them in my YJ. I'm going to run power to the heating wire here soon. It's a wire about 3 feet long (pictured below), draws less than 2 amps at 12volts heats up in probably less than a minute, I tried it out real quick back when this pic was taken a few months ago and my ass was nice and toasty, I'll let you know how well it works out here when i get it goin, theres probably some of these available on ebay or something for real cheap since it's just a wire...

PRP has a heated seat option if you're looking for new seats rather than a retrofit.

I forget the price on these, but I did price them out about a year ago, there is a place in Provo and they have a shop in slc as well, they have a guy that all he does all day long is install heated seat kits and leather upgrades.

I don't have the SLC contact info, but Bill is a good guy, unless they have moved they are located just south of a yamaha shop and just across the street from the DI store down there.

Tell him Bone Down sent you and he will know who I am.

I don't work for this company either in case your wondering, just sharing some info from my search for new seats some time ago, they do the sprayed on bedliners and sell all kinds of truck and car accessories as well, you can find these guys at nearly every tradeshow from sema to all the local car and outdoor tradeshows locally.

Cool, thanks for the help guys. I may buy a set for the wife's diesel first- she won't let me live it down that we didn't get them as an option in the first place. :D

I bought some seat heaters for my buggy here:
http://www.sportsimportsltd.com/seatheatac.html
and I KNOW it was one of the best things I did to the buggy. They stay very warm and are very easy to put in, at least into Mastercraft seat. $79.00 each. Two wire hook-up. For a vehicle with no heater, this is the way to go. They work great if you have a sore back or your kidneys get sore easy. I also bought some heated blankets from them for 20.00 each too. I had to keep my wife warm or she would not come with me to Moab.
I am getting ready to order some for my truck and maybe my wifes car. They offer a large discount if you get these in batches of 10 orders or more, you save $14.00 more each! That makes these things pretty cheap ($65.00 each). Get a group buy on these going and you could all save some money.
