Anyone got a good "transmission guy"? Don't want to DIY

So, I've got to get some work done on my 4L80E-- keeps dropping out of OD and lockup. The guy I wanted to use has apparently fallen off the face of the earth, so he's out, and 4L80's are pretty pricey to have rebuilt at a shop-- and, I'd rather avoid DIY'ing this if I can avoid it.

So... anyone have "a guy" that you'd recommend, with personal experience to back up your recommendation? :D I just want some solenoids and sensors swapped out... easy enough, but easier still for someone who does it all day.

Anyone? :D

I know the 4l60e has tcc valve problems, and they make shift kits to correct the issue. Im going through the same thing with the TB, just havent tore into it yet.

I do have a good trans guy, but he is in idaho. Thats why I get to fix my own now.

I do know a guy in Tooele with a repair shop-his name is Mike Hart. I don't know if he's a trans expert or not as those are sometimes specialized.

People have recommended J and G transmissions to me and I had a heavy duty Tranny built by them. I have not installed it yet but I expect good things by it.

I have a guy up here who is awesome... And now that I think of it... he kinda reminds me of you.... Or you remind me of him... I'm not sure which...

Either way, he rocks the rebuilds.

Don't remember the shop name but there's a shop in magna on main did the 350 for my buggy and I was very pleased with them. They were also very reasonable on pricing.

Trans-a-matic sound right? (I haven't used them, but I remember your 350....)

I have a friend with a shop in Centerville, he is an expert with OD transmissions and I do have the experience to back up his work. Send me a PM and I will give you his number.
