I was wondering if anyone has a spare tire or two or might have their tires off their rig for a little bit that I could borrow to see how they fit on my current set up. I am looking for a 40" tire on a 8x6.5 wheel. Looking for something close to West jordan area. I just want to bolt it on to the front and rear to see how much cutting it will require and then I will take it off and bring it back to you the next day.

Makes sense to get the tires you want. I just have a hard time imagining 40's on there. Pics!

I have seen some 1st gen blazers with 40-42", they don't look to bad, but they also have a little more lift than me

My two front 40" treps on 8 lug walker evans aren't currently mounted for axle repair. You're welcome to them if you wanna make the drive.

That will work, what times work for you? I could come tomorrow but wouldn't be until 9pm. I could come earlier on wed.

If you find that you can do 40s and go with new style MTRs, let me know. I still have one for sale that is in like new condition. Maybe we can work out a deal.

Will do, the MTR's are what I was leaning towards getting. Might be a little but till I get them but I'll let you know.

brett, did you ever measure those by chance to see what they actually measured out at? I never measured my old 39.5 I had on a old truck of mine.

Finally got around to getting over to benjy's house and picked up there tires, here is a picture of it before on 37's and after on the 40's....

not yet, this was just to see how it would look and get a better idea on what would need done. I am thinking of changing the leaf mounts and raising it up a inch or so which will help out. Plus I am going to change up my bump stops to make it so I wont rub like I was.

That's awesome. I can bring over my angle grinder and we can have a cutting party ;) it looks like some clearancing is definitely in order

Nice looking rig. Looks like they will fit with some work.

Thanks, wish I had the time/money/knowledge to do a link setup right now

If I could make the door area look good I was thinking of cutting right above the the part on the fender and the rear where the wheel well bumps out. but a grinder will be a tool being used.

That looks great!
Some how $5k worth of tires and wheels always makes a rig look better!
crazy how that works, I don't think the wife sees it the same way though
