I'm going to be cutting a big hole in the top of my van for my high-top install. I hear electric sheet metal shears are the way to go. I have no clue how thick the metal is on the top of this van.

Anyone have any sheet metal shears I could borrow for the project?

Your roof is thinner than 14ga. I think sheers like these may be hard to use on the corrugated portion of the roof. Are you cutting through that section?

^ thanks!

Most of the cutting will be front to back, but there are two cuts (side to side, one in front, one in the back) that need to go against the "grain" of the corrugated part.

I was afraid I would destroy someone else's shears, so I went ahead and bought the harbor freight ones. Thanks everyone.
