basket ball is his world . today i took some footage of him and put together a little video

if you get bored go comment or give it a thumbs up.. it would mean alot to him he's having a hard time with the move.

Perhaps a phone call or an email sent to those orgs might be a good idea? Shoot the Chamber of Commerce an email asking for their suggestion? I recommend asking around the area he's moving to, not a bunch of Utahns. ;)

Australia has a pretty strong basketball background as long as he is leaving in a city and not with the aboriginees.

Seriously though he will be able to find as much ball as his heart desires.

thanks i was just coming to delete this because sami was nice enough to let me know that no one on here knew anything about basketball in australia.. i dont know what i would do with out all of that guys positive help ..

and steve hes only 12 but we talked about how it will be like a mission since the branch he will be in is fairly small in number but large in area if that makes sense. He is kind of likes the idea of it being a practice for his real mission

Cool. That'd be a tough transition for a 12 year old, but what a cool life experience. He may even develop new interests/talents that he wouldn't be able to have here.

yeah .. and he can buy a second gen 4 door toyota!! or a new samurai.. well he cant since hes 12 but yeah he is trying to talk his family into a older 4 door toyota .. in moab he got a shirt that says this toyota eats jeeps.. my brother drives a jeep :)

they were able to take there four wheeler and there boat and live close to a big lake so hopefully it works out for him..

he's afraid moving there is going to lessen his chances of playing in the nba.. the kid is set on playing pro ball he quit skate boarding wont go snowboarding anymore because he's scared he will get hurt and mess up his basketball career ..

Another option, very simple one... Contact the Branch President ahead of time and ask about local basketball programs. The fact is, you're far more likely to get boots-on-the-ground details about what's going on in Emerald Queensland by asking someone who lives there. ;)

"You can get a good look at a T-bone steak by sticking your head up a bull's ass; but wouldn't you rather just take a butcher's word for it?" :)
