Anyone know where I can get a tire bead fixed?

So a while back my dad took a rollover in ephraim. After up-righting the jeep, and making sure everything was good, they went on there way. Well what he didn't know was that he had bent his right front wheel when the jeep whent over, it was rubbing on the caliper of the d60, and it got hot enough that it burned the rubber off the bead in about a 3-5" section of the tires inner bead.

So my question is, is there anyone out there, or anyone know someone that can re-vulcanize some rubber onto that section of the bead? My boss (work at a tire shop) says it is junk (I personally don't think he wanted to do the work to see if it could be done) if this was a street tire, I could understand why it would be junk, but with it being an off road only tire, why couldn't it be done?

It isn't exactly a cheap tire, and has tons of life left, so if possible I really want to save it.

If anyone can help, or if anyone knows someone that does this type of work, can you let me know? All help would be awesome.

i used to work at a tire shop and i do mechanic work and even if it is a offroad tire i dont think anything can be done, you can try a slicon on the bead to make it hold air i saw that done on a drag tire with a messed up wheel, but sorry to say u most lilkey will have to get a new tire i have never seen a bead repaired safely

Of all sketchy places to repair on a tire, I would say the bead is number one. I wouldn't ever consider it, even for offroad only use on a brand new off the showroom floor tire. If the bead gets messed up, the tire is toast.

Would beadlocks make the tire usable for offroad? Maybe even a bual beadlock like a run flat military rim? It is a d60 so 8 lug Humvee rims?

well, that is what i thought, these tires are eventually going on my yota, so i wanna get this one fixed or replaced. I am planning on doing beadlocks, and it might help clamp that bead.

The reason I ask if anyone knows where I could get it fixed, is because i remember it being done in the past.

haha, I figured there was nothing I could do, just thought I would ask, hey tacoma, still want that Samoa cookie?! :D

I was with you dad when he rolled and ruined the tire, he stopped at my house and tried to air it up, when it wouldnt take we looked at it closely and from what I seen I wouldnt run it. maybe tube it and use it as a spare thats the most I would do.

Ya that is probably what I will do, thanks all!

Tacoma, I don't right now, but keebler makes some cookies that are way close to the samoas!
