Anyone on here do exhaust work?

I need my exhaust work done on my Scrambler from the cat backwards. I really like the durability that the Flowmaster super 44 has.

I'm shopping around and I have been told $240 installed. My concern is that the last two jobs that I have paid high dollar for I got total crap in service. Eg. pipe almost touching frame in spots and asking for a cat with a nipple for a smog pump and getting one installed without(he was not about to take it off).

Anyway. I'm not asking for a free job. If I have to pay $240 I will, but I want it done better than a couple of high school shop kids could throw together. Or I'll go pay some high school kids.

I'd like to think that the economy is stimulating some higher quality work. Those are the ones I want to give my hard earned cash.

Let me know if there is anyone that you would recommend as well.

Ray's Muffler in Bountiful has done great work for me in the past. I went there 4 different times last year and had great work done. One of those four times was my TJ and I have never had the exhaust touch anything during wheeling. The owner is in to jeeping big time. Price was very reasonable as well.

Lachhart Ent. on the corner of Main and 1300 S. in Salt Lake. Call Mark and tell him Josh from the Rad Jeeper refered you. He does the best exhaust work I have seen. He's not cheap, but he will do just what you want. He builds hot rods and even right now, he has a six month waiting list for big jobs. This tells you the kind of work he does. He bought all the equipment for doing exhaust because he was tired of the junk that he was getting back from others when he would send his stuff out. Don't be surprised to pay $5-600 for it though. Plus, he's a super nice guy to work with.

Ricks Muffler in Orem UT does all my work on custom suspension rigs, clears everything. I am real picky and he does a great job! They do custom hot rod systems to. He seems to run $220-$260 try them.

I ran by them and I may still use them but, He seemed uninterested in doing the job. Didn't sell me too much, even though he was one of the most affordable. Good to hear he has treated you well.

x2 on rick's. Awesome work, for a great price. He did my dads Bronco from the headers back and it sounds great.

When going with an off road muffler what have any of you chosen. The input and output of a Flowmaster super44 are formed huge! Is there anything else out there that you all would recommend, for a jeep that will see some decent off road use?

have to agree with N8R again, while I was at 4wheel, we only used the round magnaflows on jeeps with a long arm kit because of the way they fit up under great and sound really good.

If you want excellent work at an affordable price, check out JR's Custom Muffler in Orem. They did exhaust on 3 of my vehicles when I used to live in UT, I really liked what they did.

For mufflers, I also like Aero Exhaust... good sound, nice and compact, quality product, etc.

Yeah Jr's is who I have usually used. They are rad, although they hiked the price up $75 dollars after my quote. I feel a little screwed everytime I walk out of a muffler shop. It feels like a concrete job gone bad, "too bad" is always the answer I get, too hard to change after it's done.

I have had an offer her within the RME world and am confident in some more than satisfactory service.

A 44 muffler might be a little loud, at least for me, for a trail rig. The last thing I want to do is listen to my exhaust all day long.

I had a Flowmaster 70 on my ZJ and it had a nice deep tone (had headers 3" pipe, hi-flow cat, etc).

Anything too aggressive gets old on a open top wheeler. My CJ has a Magnaflow and its pretty quiet.

Look into Flow master Hush Power. No personal exp with them but they look to be compact and built to be on the quiet side.

Nice, thanks for all of the suggestions, I had an epiphany and decided to rob the Muffler off my parts jeep that was really only a couple of months old and Ricks did a fabulous job throwing it together. Not-to-mention quick.

Glad Rick took care of you. He and his son Jesse run a good shop, they're really good guys.

I am not saying he does bad work now, but I had a bad experience a while ago. He did a full exhaust for me and instead of doing a nice Y-pipe it ended up being a T-pipe, and I dont lack the space under the truck. Also after getting the exhaust done I started blowing fuses for my rear lights. He installed the pipe too close to the wires and totally melted them.

I went there to get some work done on my PowerJoke. Very happy with the work. Reasonable pricing.
