anyone tried this??? I have read some great reviews on this baby, MUCH tougher than a come-along (althought essentialy thats what it is)and has the advatage that you can hook it to the side of your rollbar etc to unroll yourself without having another vehicle accompanying you with a winch. comes in 2,3,4 and 6 ton models. seen pics of vehicles winched up some pretty nasty stuff with this guy and they arent too expensive.

Well to me it just looks like a glorified come-a-long...while I would in noway substitute it for a winch, it may compliment a winch nicely (although I truely HATE come-a-longs:D) so personally I wouldn't waste my own money on it;)

I think one of the mags did a little article on them about a year or two ago. I believe thier feeling was a subsitute for small stuff but not to replace a winch.

I bought one a few years back. Pretty well made, and on the few times I've used it, it worked great. Although my wife thinks I'm an idiot, I still pack it in the Jeep even with the winch on the front.

yeah, the people on pirate 4x4 seem to like the more power puller alot. quite a bit beefier built than your standard come along....besides, if you get a reg winch, and you are out alone and roll on your side (or are out with someone without a winch)what good is your bumper mounted winch going to do you?? A GREAT BIG NOTHING!..you get one of these pullers that has a 6,000 dead lift capacity, hook it to the side of your rollbar and the other side to another object(tree, big ass rock, or buddies tow hooks, and use it to manual winch yourself back onto all 4.

actually, you can winch yourself back up with the use of a snotch block...same way you would do this one...like I said before, I would never substitute a winch for this but it may be nice to have in addition to a winch;) (BTW, 6K lbs is nothing when you're stuck:D)
