anyone up for AF/Mineral Basin this coming Saturday 11-19?

I was thinking that if I can get all my honey-dos done before the weekend it might be fun to make one last trip up there. I drove up to Tibble Fork a few days ago and all of the gates are still open, so that isn't an issue. If it is snowing heavily I may reconsider, but right now it sounds like a great idea.

i heard that they were closing the canyon this week. you might wanna check with the rangers before ya go.

They must have had a lot more snow than I thought over the weekend. I spoke with the attendant when I was up there and she said they will close it at Tibble Fork when there is too much snow. I will call the ranger station and check.

Well, just called them and they closed the gates to Silver Lake and past Tibble Fork this morning and will reopen them when there is enough snowpack for snowmobiling. She said they spent a lot of the weekend saving folks with a lack of common sense and had to close it down.
