...They've not seen "Smokey and the Bandit", "This is Spinal Tap" or "Christmas Vacation". (they have seen "The Holy Grail" but don't get it....) I haven't even asked about the Fletch movies or other classics (1941 or Animal House come to mind)

Most are not on Netflix  .... Any "mainstream" streaming sources I can get those movies?

No clue on where to find them....but make sure the original "Vacation" is on the list of things to find. I would not say Animal House or Porkies would be kid-appropriate. (although your kids ARE older than mine, so I may be off a bit there)

Add Caddyshack. The Princess Bride. I'm sure there are more....

I have Smokey and the Bandit on DVD. On a related note, I also have The Cannonball Run on DVD. I would be proud to help you correct this travesty by loaning them to you.

UNSTUCK

But stuck more often.
Fletch is awesome! My last name is Underhill, so it made us famous. Yes, that's right, just put it on my tab.

No American Graffiti?
No Gone In 60 Seconds (the original, not the refake)?
No Bullit?

Marc, you disappoint.....

Those have been seen.... I was just surprised I stopped there and didn't include "Smokey and the Bandit" and a few others.... (Bullit is loved but just at the end :D) ... they don't get American Graffiti either

Karate Kid. The Labyrinth. Back to the Future. Teen Wolf. Batteries Not Included. Short Circuit. Gremlins. The Goonies. Top Gun. Ghost Busters. Raiders of the Lost Ark. I could go on. I re-watch these over and over, so my kids watch them too.- They just don't make movies like these anymore. 80's movies rule!
