Thank you, thank you, thank you. That one really bugs me too, working at a parts shop, you really get annoyed with customers trying to sound smart fast,

a few examples:
A "Warner" winch
Ranchero shocks
Elderbrock carbs,
P I A A lights,

well, I'll admit to the bottom one... how is it pronounced?... "pee-uh"?... "pee-aye"... i dunno shoot...

My favorites are:

"dual cardigan" driveshaft (actually its "dual cardan")
"Dom" tubing (D.O.M. is an acronym which stands for "drawn over mandrel")

Below is a picture of "dual cardigan" sweaters. Also, here is a picture of Dom Deluise. None of these are 4x4 related. :p

Sorry Von, I'm always going to call it "dom" and my laziness precludes the use of . . . when typing DOM :p

I don't care how people type it, but simply pronounce it "D" "O" "M" (in individual letters) when speaking, thats all.

Whats even more rediculous is when people try to sound out "HREW", as if its a word.

or when they call their rig "off road truck for sale" then ya know that when they say "lockers", they may just be talking about the manual hubs
