I just got a killer deal on a balljoint 60. What are my options for high steer ??? I have been doing a little searching and everything I find is for dodge knuckles and what not. Any advice is greatly appreciated

talk to venture13 on here. he has a superduty ball joint 60 with high steer. i think the superduty knuckles have hi steer built into them? not sure. but he would be a great source of info.

Good deal thanks man ill shoot him a PM.

Is his the newer unit bearing style???

yeah it is. he says they are the way to fly, as your stub shaft is really short and your hub won't be sticking past the end of your wheel. It makes sense to me, and i would totally go that route when I build my front 60, but i don't know if it will be worth it...i'll have to see.

everyone says that unit bearings are bad news and prone to fail, but i don't know that i agree with that. for one, they were engineered for the front of a 1 ton truck that has a HEAVY diesel engine sitting on it. what is a Jeep compared to that? Plus, that is what spidertrax builds their axles with, and i have seen some pretty crazy video of rigs with their axles jumping big time...i don't know. mitch (venture13) can tell you all this and more though.

my d60 is out of a 1996 ford f350.

I don't think there is much out there. I had a place in WVC machine my knuckle and build my first arm. That place is not there anymore.

I keep telling my buddy in Durango he should build these and have them on his shelf and take other peoples as cores since he is a machinist and has a few d-60's of that era around.

I re-made the arm so I could run TRE instead of the heim. and to do over the knuckle tie rod I had to more the arm out so I could actually remove the tie rod end for the tie rod without removing the hi-steer arm.

I have no idea where you would get work like this done, I would think any machine shop could do it, it is just a mater of if they will do it for a reasonable amount of money. Also I suspect that my knuckle is now bent so if you find place let me know since I may need a new knuckle machined...

Here is what I did, first gen and my new arm;

well I am going to go full hydro at the same time so i dont have to worry about a drag link. I am leaning towards just flipping the tie rod to the top of the stock mount for now since i have so much other stuff to buy first.......
