They did a really good job with it considering that it was never intended for 720p release.

I've been reading around, apparently it was released last year in 1080p but only in Japan

I also found out that they are currently making a new 10 part series that focuses on the Pacific theater

I hear ya, I'm jealous of people who get to watch it for the first time.

Watching it in 720p is almost like watching it for the first time.
