Bend Tech Pro

I've tried a couple different bending programs, and all of them require enough work/information to spit out anything accurate, that I could have made the complex bends a couple times in reality by the time I got the computer to tell me what/where to bend.

Just like anything computer, the output is only as accurate as the input. In this case, sometimes the input data almost requires you to make the bends first so you can measure them, then input the data, then the program will tell you how you just bent it. :D

I'm sure those programs have their uses, but I haven't found it yet.

I purchased this software last week and I finally just got around to installing it on my computer last night. I have no previous experience with CAD type software, and I can tell that there is going to be a pretty steep learning curve involved in understanding how it works. I thought it would be a lot more idiot- friendly than it is. It came with a 70 page operator's manual, but it appears that the contents is geared more towards people with previous CAD experience, and it seems to just brush over many of the more important basic concepts.

I can see that after I get a grasp on the basic concepts, it will be a pretty useful tool, but until then, there is going to be some suffering involved. I've built several cages and other assorted stuff, and it is fairly easy to just determine the bends that are required as you go, but to actually be able to create a 3D model of an item complete with a detailed list of materials, bend sequences, material weight, etc. prior to building the item seems extremely helpful. It is also quite handy to have all that info saved for future use should you want to build an identical item in the future, or if you wanted to do a production run.

Hope this helps...

Eh save your money and just get the bend tech ez. If you can figure out how to build a cage its all you will need. Like said before the program is only as good as the input info. I have the EZ and it helps when im lazy thats about it lol.
