Bender question

I'm about to purchase a jd2 model 3 bender. I'm only getting one die for now.

What radius is a good all around?

It looks like the common ones are 4.5" 5.5" and 6.5".

any opinions would be appreciated.

I would go with the 5.5 radius.

Get a die with a radius that is no less than 3x the size of the tube you're bending. Otherwise you run the chance of buckling the tube on the inside of the bend. That's what the guys at Van Sant told me when I was die shopping.

1.5" tube x 3 = 4.5" radius

I hav the same bender and i believe mine is the 5.5 and it works great!! Im sure either one will work perfectly! Good luck man you'll love it!!
