Best aftermarket muffler

I have been thinking that I want to upgrade my muffler. But I don't want to spend a huge amount. My dad has a flowmaster series 40 on his TJ and I like the sound of it but it was kinda pricey.

What brands have you guys had experience with?

Should I just go down to Checker and buy a cherry bomb?

Mostly sound, I know that a muffler doesn't make that much of a difference performace wise, but I don't want some piece of crap to hamper my already dismal engine power output.

flowmaster!! gibson also makes nice stuff but it's more expensive and is alot quieter(doesn't have that cool flowmaster sound)

Go with a Flowmaster.

They are strong as all get-out, will take a beating and sound bitchen! Plus, the performance benefits.

You can take the muffler off and that four cylnder still won't make any noise. The Cat will muffle it. Spend you money on a good stereo and make a tape of a healthy V8, crank it up and your there.

Oh, yeah. Go with flowmaster, I like my Gibson but if I told you to get one all the the flowmaster lovers would get mad at me.

One more thing, if you're looking for someone to install it I had really good luck with Master Muffler on 3500 s. They did awesome work tucking it up high for me (not too high though) and they were cheap.

cherry bombs blow out, rust out, sound goofy, and you'll lose torque. Save money in the long run and do it right.

flowmaster is the way to go. i put one on my toyota tacoma and everybody says that they can hear it comeing down the street. sounds good ans gives good performance too.

So what series flowmaster should I get, 40, 50, 80?

i put a performance muffler on mine its not to loud but has done a good job i will go ask the name of it if you want it was like 40 to 60 bucks i think
