Best Buggy Steering

While we're at it, please discuss options, pros and cons of full hydraulic set ups that your are using. Any preferences on single or double side rams? PSC and Howe are a given. I've used Howe on the last two rigs and love the systems. I have a Howe TC pump already so that's the way I'm leaning.

I have been convinced by numerous people and reviews to use PSC. I planning on full hydro -double ended ram.

Full manual. Too much to go wrong with any power steering system, whether full hydraulic, hydraulic assist, or just plain power steering. A manual rack and pinion would give you the best steering response and road feel.

I drive a Ford every day....that's even more braindead, plus they come from the factory with mostly non-functioning power steering.

Since I put on the new(est) pump, the steering is better, but I still think I have a bad or mismatched valve. But I will say that I have been very happy with the service I have received from PSC, and their products are great! Also, their packaging of their products for shipping is WAY WAY better than what others do, so no lost stuff!
Just my thoughts.

I'm running a DE ram from Rockstomper, Howe Pump, res, and cooler, all Aeroquip hose and fittings plumbed exactly like Howe says and it's perfect. I wouldn't change anything on mine.

IMO Rockstomper makes the best ram out there if you're not building too light weight, and your pump can flow enough volume for the cylinder displacement. The res from Howe with filter is sweet as well.

Howe also has the new rockracing system (Trophy Truck stuff) which is also top notch but $$.

Hmmm, haven't heard of them binding up before. Any ideas on why it does that?

By binding to you mean it is weak, when up agaist a rock it will not turn?
