my buddy is looking for new drivetrain for his 67 commando. he would like GM for cost and reliability.

he wants an auto tranny

he also wants the reliability of a dana-300

is there a vehicle with a 350-motor-th350 or 400 or 700r4 and dana 300 t-case....we need to get his rig together since he spun a bearing in the old oddfire...

I think the best you are going to do to find that combo is:
360, TF727, D300.

I have never heard of a 350,350, 300.

I dont think a 300 ever came in a chevy...I may be wrong though...I would say look for a 350-350-205...205s are all gear driven like the 300, and they aren't TOO hard to find...prolly easier and cheaper than the 300...and they can be twin sticked too...FWIW

or they could do a doubler and be the same length as a stock 203:D...but thats means more $$$, trust me I know:D

J.R. at MS Conception is doing a buildup of a commando, hes doin a 350 465 205 combo though.. hes doing a sweet job on it, it would maybe give your buddy some pointers and a direction to go on his buildup...and I would say go 203 205 doubler stronger than a 300, even when the 300 is built....
