best gear ratio?

I need gears for the dana 60's I just got, I was thinking 4.56 or 4.88s. What would be my best bet for gas mileage, and off road use? I,m runnin 37's and dont have the money for an atlas yet, so I am only gearing the axles for now. Any advice would be nice!

I would lean towards 4.88's with a manual and towards 4.56's with the automatic.

I have 4:88's with a 700r - Overdrive. It is perfect with 35's.

I like the 4.56's I have. But I would also have a 350 and wish i had more motor, but I wouldn't like any more gear. I have a 3.8 atlas too though, 39 tsl's and its great to about 70 mph.

Maybe I just dont want to admit I need lower gears...

Yep,

I ran 37's with 4:45 and it wasn't quite enough. 4:88 or 5:13 would have been better when I was driving it on the road.

Go with 4.88 or 5.13's thats what I would do.
