I went there tonight and they have good prices. I was bummed out though because the 25 dollar rebate they had ended already. still 180 after tax isnt bad.

I called costco and then went over to auto zone (since I have no membership) and they did there price match but I have also been told by them that they wont price match wal-mart, costco, and sam-club. So I guess it all depends on the employee

The exide orbital is the same spiral wound recombant gas technology and costs less, available at Checker...Tim

Some people think they are made by the same company, just packaged in a different case...depending on what\who you read.

But I've had two of those fail miserably about 10 months into life. So far, my Optima has lasted mucho better (hitting about two years now).

Yeah, my extensive experience with Optimas has been great. My experience with Excide Orbitals has been less than stellar. :ugh:

My friends red top Optima in his CJ5 lasted for ten years and he has a winch. I know a farmer that chucked a pitchfork through his red top (I don't know why) and it lasted for a few more years. I bounced my red top out of the battery tray and onto the exhaust manifold. It burned though all the way to the spiral things. I didn't notice for several weeks , but I just epoxied the hole up and the battery was still going strong when I sold the jeep.

Optimas are the best battery I have ever tried. The only thing I don't like, is that they are hard to bring back to life if they are slowly discharged until they are stone dead. I killed two that way with car that had an electrical draw and wasn't driven often. It is not a problem with something that is driven regularly.

Batteries Plus in Orem seemed to have decent prices on them.

Just throwing it out there, But we sell Optima Batteries at a very reasonible cost.

If you do happen to find it cheaper somewhere else, I will always price match, as long as it's not below my cost. My yellow tops range from about $179-$229 depending on the application.

I don't know where you might get one, just letting you know about my much less than stellar experience with Optima batteries. I had a cell go bad in one less than a year old and its replacement is about a year old and losing a cell also. I'll never have another one. Did have very good luck with Sears Gold though.

Red top (starting)
Blue top (deep cycle)
yellow top with a winch (dual use)

I got mine from Waynehartwig years ago, What a stud!
they were out of stock so he let me borrow a battery (brand new from his Rubicon) until it came in, and it's still running strong almost 3 years later

I'll send business his way anytime I can because of that :D

I have an optima red that was 2 years old when I bought the jeep, I passed it to another after using it for 5 years, it will fire up without a doubt even though that jeep gets started only once a week. I will never go to a wet battery in a jeep ever again. My last wet cel spilled acid all over and took paint with it.
