best place to buy gears and locker

I need to buy some dana 30 and ford 8.8 gears and a locker. Any recomendations? I also need to get them installed where should I go? What is the going rate?

I usually buy the gears from six states, and the lockers from four wheel parts. randy's ring and pinion has good prices too. although i don't know how good the yukon gears are.

I've set up dozens of Yukon gears, and have had no issues with them. Good stuff! Same can be said of Sierra gears. Just stay away from Genuine Gears....you'll pay more in the end for cheap stuff like that.

I also have had good experiences with Yukon and BAD experiences with Genuine Gear, from their ring and pinions to their Quik-Lok, it is all poor quality. I now avoid anything by Genuine Gear like the plague!

I too have done quite a few Yukons and have never seen a failure. I have seen a Genuine give up the ghost too soon, though!

Shop around that is the best thing to do.

Rock logic quoted me 760.00 for yukon 456 R&P, master install kit, and installation of the above. (No Carrier).

Front Dana44 (LP) and not even in the vehicle, this was a LLLL of a lot more than what I was expecting.

Since this was more than I was looking at spending at the time, I stopped after these two shops as I knew I did not have enough money to get the D44 done and swapped in for spring over before my trip to Moab, so now I have all winter to build it up and then do the swap.

Rocklogic! That's were I would go, if didn't do it myself. Even though I don't own a Toy! <GRIN) unless you have or are on, if it still around Jeep-Slc list, then I would try and get hold of JR.

I'd be willing to bet that 4Wheel Parts is quoting you Genuine Gears, not Superior. If so, run, run away as fast as you can!!! Genuine Gears suck!! Rocklogic will treat you right. Even if they're a little more expensive they'll do it right and you won't have to worry.

JR no longer has his shop but he does work at Outer Limits Motorsports (formerly Factory Tubular)

Six States in Orem always have done good work for me. They have installed several gear sets and I have had zero problems. Talk to Kevin over there in the shop.

It was superior ( I found my pick sheet), and I don't think that I will be going to either to be honest, the prices are a bit high for me.

RL = $760 of which $270 (R&P + master install(not including carrier))was parts $490 to install a set of gears and a master install kit on an axle that is not installed on a vehicle seems a bit excessive to me.

I got my Yukon gears and install kit from Porc on Pirate.. Nobody even came close to his prices here... Sorry guys I had my gears here in just a couple of days as well.

I had OLMS do my 4.56 and detroit this summer...I believe JR did the setup, no issues so far, I think they used superior and yukon. Outer Limits treated me right and was substantially cheaper than 4wp and other places I called.
