Whichever one you get the best deal on. I like the GY because I get the balance/rotation for the life of the tire included in the price.

personal experience says go with MTR that's what i have now. but i have "heard" that the bfg Krawler is a better tire. so if you can afford it go for that.

Toyo M/T's, they are the only thing I would run. I do work for Les Schwab and I probably put about 3 to 5 sets on a week and we have had very few complants, they are way quiet on the road and we have been seeing any ware from 35000 to 55000 mi on then. plus they run very smooth and they balance very well and if you buy then from us, we include balance and rotation for the life of the tire for no charge..

i heard that the wranglers have a 6ply side wall with a puncture proof material and better tread on the sidewall than the bfg's do. i like the toyos but they are way too expensive for me.

Every tire has it's place...There' a reason you see alot of BFGs (along with other hard compound tires) on street rigs, and you see MTRs on alot of rigs that get wheeled. I take it you arent talking about Krawlers(KX), but the reg MT/KMs. If you want long lasting street wear, get the BFGs(MTs) If you want good tread wear AND trail performance, get MTR. If you compare the sidewalls of the 2 tires, unmounted, it's scary how thin the BFG MTs are.

The few trail rigs I've seen run BFG MTs, just wont hook up where other tires do, and they end up leaving a pile of rubber shavings and going nowhere. I have ripped a couple of MTRs-but I was slamming them into sharp rocks and that happens. I have seen BFG MTs rip on things that just shouldnt be an issue. If your going to go BFG, go with Krawlers-sweet tire there(if you can afford em) There's a reason there are so many trail rigs running MTRs, for the perf, and price, you just cant beat them.

That's why 90% of Toyos are sold to guys running lifted pickup/SUVs, running 18" bling, pounding pavement. I'm not dis'n em, they are a great tire for treadlife/steet use, while still hooking up when the snow hits.

I've run both for years. The BFG's wear like iron on the street but nearly all folks I know who attempted to run them on the trail continually rip the side walls. The GY are quiter on the street but don't last for half as long as the BFG's. On the trail the GY's are pretty much unstopable. Both wear horribly if you don't rotate them every 3,000 and even then they don't do that well.

I've had two sets of MT/Rs (32" and 35"). I got about 30K out of my 32" and traded them off to get 33" SSR (they were at least half tread) and I got 20K out of my 35" and then sold the rig. Again, they were at least half tread. I did rotate and balance pretty religiously.

I've not owned the BFG, so I really don't have personal experience.

One other thought is where are going to wheel and in what weather?

When the UOOC did a snowy/icey run in the Sheep Rock Mountains in November, the rigs with mud treads of any brand had a much harder go than those with an all-terrian tread.

i have 33'' mtr's and my buddy has 35'' bfg MT's he is locked front and rear and i'm only locked up in the rear and he has yet to go somewhere i didn't follow him. plus bfg mt's don't balance very well at all.

and about the whole toyo MT's i work at firestone. and everyone who comes in with them tends to get a weird reverse cupping wear. i've seen it at least 5 times. most people are unimpressed. and by the way they have discontinued the BFG all terrains as far as i know.

not sure about at's being discontinued, as I have just bought me a set of 35's. previously I have owned LTB Swampers,Cooper Discoverer ST's, and BIG O XT's. definetily preffer BFG AT KO's to all these other tires. my buddy has been running same set for last three years with no sidewall damage so we shall see I guess.

Oh, and my personal choice is the BFG AT/KO's. I had them on my Tacoma, rotated them every 3000 miles. When I sold the truck, the tires had almost 30K on them and were still at about 2/3's tread. Quiet tire, solid on the rocks in Moab and around the valleys.

A+++, great tire, would buy again....and will shortly for my XJ. I like the way my MT/R's perfom on it, but they've worn funny and even with rotating them a LOT, they won't even out. Too loud as well for me. Honestly, I thought that the BFG MT's I had before were a lot quieter than the GY MT/R's.

That's my .25 cents

Skittles you must be on crack, those are one of the most popular tires on the market. For an all around tire, they were th best ive owned.

this is what i have been told by my boss they either have or are in the process of discontinuing them because of how many complaints they get. we are a direct disributor of bfg's tires so i think he would know. i'm not for sure but i know a buddy of mine was trying to get a set of 315. something something bfg at's and he couldn't find them anywhere and the company said they were on back order but since they discontinued them he was **** out of luck. like i said i could be wrong but i think bfg is selling the rest of them that are made and then will produce another bfg at. i've never met a person in real life who hasn't hated bfg at's. everyone complains about tire noise, vibrations, and uneven wear but they do last for a long time that is what i will say for sure we had a guy with a cummins go 80k miles on a set when i worked at goodyear. so i will say the compound is hard as **** if that's what you're lookin for.

p.s. i'll try to lay off the crack for now

Whatever, only way is to change tread pattern again...

Jeeper, I run both, the 37 mtr on the XJ and 35 at on the TJ my tow rig is also running the 315 at. I havnt an issue with either tire. Ive run the at on and off the rocks, in the mud, snow etc and they always grab when needed. The mtr imo is nice on dry pavement and rocks, but a litty fishy on the snow.
